Jiri Novotny

Jiri Novotny is a former Czech ice hockey forward. He started playing hockey in Jindrichuv Hradec, from where he headed to Ceske Budejovice at the age of 15. In the NHL he played for the Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets. He played nine seasons in the KHL, where he rotated through Atlant Mytishchi, Barys Astana, HC Lev Praha, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Traktor Chelyabinsk and Lada Togliatti. At the end of his career, he played an incomplete three seasons in the the Swiss club Ambri-Piotta and finished his career in the 2021-22 season with HC Motor Ceske Budejovice. He is the holder of a gold and two silver medals from the World Championships. Since 2021 he has been working in Switzerland as a player agent representing hockey players.
